I am a Libyan-Berber/American artist born and raised in London. After my MFA in Photo at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago I worked and exhibited in New York. The economic crash of 2008 catalysed a 10-year hiatus, working and studying around the world. In that time, I amassed an inventory of landscapes leading to this body of work.

Multiscapes are composite utopic landscapes. There is minimal digital intervention. As a multi-ethnic multicultural person, not only do I feel the experiential boon and dysphoria of my composite composition, I see my sense of home as similarly composite. Curious about my sense of statelessness, these images also represent musings on why we attach so much more to nationalism than environmentalism.

This series includes Yellowstone Park, The Amazon and Highlands of Peru, Bryce Canyon, The North and The Yucatan of Mexico, The Rockies of British Columbia, Joshua Tree National Park, Moab National Park, Scotland, and England. I look forward to the day I can include Libya...
